Talavera Pottery has its roots in the Arab-Andalusia culture of Spain. Monks brought the technique to Mexico to teach native artisans to decorate their monasteries and churches with tiles and religious figures. Mineral pigments are still used today at Quinta Irma and the complex fabrication process combines to create pieces that are treasured by collectors around the world.

Quinta Irma is in its third general -- each piece is signed with the family crest signifying Irma, her son and his family. Tiles are priced at $35 and larger more decorative platters and pots range to $180. All pieces are lead-free.
